Tomb Style - Gym Time

So here we are, with issue two of Tomb Style! (Slightly later than planned due to some technical issues)


Now is it just me or do Gyms always seem so serious? Well we think that we might just have a solution to lighten the mood.

For this set we have gone with our Interpretive Dance T-shirt in black, that features our good buddy Vern the Rat. This unisex tee is great for so many looks. Throw on some jeans with it and your good for a shopping trip and lunch with your mates. Pull on your favourite sweat pants with it and curl up in front of the TV in comfort; or do what we have here and wear it to make the gym a more fun and quirky environment.

For this quirky gym look we have teamed the shirt up with some cool wet look leggings. With this being a black on black outfit, we feel that the different material surfaces, the matte of the shirt and the patent finish on the leggings, help break everything up so that it doesn't end up looking like you have some odd cat suit on. To this we have also added a Varsity style hoodie, again, to break things up with the grey tones as well as the black but also, just to add to that sporty feel as well as comfort. And of course, a gym outfit wouldn't be complete without a gym bag now would it? We discovered this fun and quirky bag on Polyvore, and think that it would be the perfect thing to liven up that gym atmosphere. Show them all that you don't take your self to seriously and you can be fit as well as fun.

This is a real casual look that would be great if you are meeting up for lunch with friends, but don't want to look like you have just come from a workout. Maybe your not even heading for the gym but want to look awesome but still be comfy with minimal effort, either way this could work for you!

Did you know Tomb Buddies is on Polyvore?

So far we have discovered that Polyvore is ridiculously addictive and full of so many awesome creative people. So to justify our slight addiction to the site we are going to try something new and a bit different here, on our shiny new blog.

Every month we are going to post one of the sets we have put together and talk a bit about the look we have created. (Yes, you read that right, the crazy Goth chick is going to talk about clothes and fashion; so hold on to your Top Hat). Better still, this is also a chance for you to get involved. Anyway, let get down to business with the first installment of Tomb Style.


So to get the ball rolling here, we are staring with one of our favourite Tomb Buddies shirts. This is our Dream Big shirt in white. An original Tomb Buddies design printed on an American Apparel shirt made in the USA of a fine jersey material. It's a soft and durable shirt that has a real vintage feel to it.

For this look we have gone really casual and teamed it up with a pair of Paige Black Shadow Edgemont Skinny Jeans. We saw these while browsing on Polyvore and loved the zip detail under the pockets. Any pair of black skinny jeans would work here. If you don't already own a pair then what are you waiting for? We personally think that they are a wardrobe must have, because lets face it, they go with anything and can be worn all year round. (Maybe that's just a British thing, because summer only hangs around for a couple of days here.) For shoes we have picked out a pair of good ol' Dr Martens. Personally I think that you need something like a pair of DMs or Military style boot here, just to balance things out. These are a sturdy, yet comfy choice of footwear that shows the world you mean business, and will take on anything to achieve your dreams. We have also added this totally awesome clutch bag, that some great detail on it in the form of skeleton hands. I think this is a fun and quirky accessory that adds personality while still being practical. You could go even further and add a leather biker jacket or maybe even a denim jacket, if the Sun hasn't come out!
